Indonesia’s palm oil production rose in first half of 2021
Palm oil output from Indonesia, the world’s biggest producer, rose by 4.25% in the first half of this year, the Indonesian Palm Oil Association said in a press release dated 18 August, distributed to media.
Indonesian planters produced 24.5 million tonnes of dark red oil from January to June this year, up from 23.5 million tonnes in the same period in 2020.
The country’s palm oil exports rose to 15.77 million tonnes in the first six months of this year. It went up from 15.50 million tonnes in the same period in 2020.
Europe shipments down in June
Exports in June dropped by 31.4% to 2.02 million tonnes from May as producers were in wait-and-see due to high volatility price, the association said.
