Indonesia’s palm oil exports down more than 5% year-to-date

Indonesia exported 6.41 million metric tons of crude and refined palm oil from January to April, down 5.37 percent year-on-year, Business Recorder reported, citing data from the country’s Bureau of Customs.
However, due to higher prices, shipments totaled $7.05 billion in the first four months of 2025, up 20 percent from the same period in 2024. The bureau’s data, as the publication notes, does not include palm kernel oil, oleochemicals, and biodiesel.
The Indonesian palm oil industry association GAPKI usually releases its own data toward the end of the month, which will cover a larger range of products.
As previously reported, Indonesia raised the export duty on crude palm oil from 7.5 percent to 10 percent, effective mid-May.
