Indonesia’s palm oil and palm kernel oil output seen down 5% in 2024, GAPKI says
Output of crude palm oil and crude palm kernel oil by Indonesia, the world’s biggest producer, is estimated at 51 million metric tons this year, down around 5% from 2023, officials of industry association GAPKI told reporters on Tuesday.
The impact of a dry weather pattern in 2023 has affected crops this year and lowered the output, especially as around 40% of the country’s oil palm trees are old, GAPKI secretary general M. Hadi Sugeng Wahyudiono said.
