India will increase grain storage capacity by almost 50%

India’s government has approved a new 1 trillion Indian rupee (about $12.1 billion) grain-processing capacity development program that calls for decentralized grain-saving facilities. The program was approved to increase the country’s grain storage capacity from the current 145 million tons to 215 million tons, the Hindustan Times reported.
