In Ukraine already harvested 58.2 million tons, and in Russia 128.8 million tons of grain

Dry weather in Russia and most of Ukraine continues to contribute to the collection of late crops and sowing of winter crops. Heavy precipitation in the Western part of Ukraine constrain the harvesting of sunflower, soy and corn, and that’s a concern, because the yield is higher, but the loss of some of the sunflower crop can adversely affect and so intense sunflower market.

The Average yield in Russia is higher than last year at that time in Ukraine is much lower than last year.

Ukrainian farmers as of October 13, gathered 58.2 million tons of major crops from an area of 18.8 million hectares.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of economic development, trade and agriculture.

In Particular, of grain and leguminous crops harvested 44.1 million tonnes from an area of about 11.7 million ha (76% of the forecast).

In the context of the cultures are collected:

  • millet 221 thousand tons from the area of 134,4 thousand hectares (89%);
  • buckwheat 90,2 thousand tonnes area of 70.4 thousand hectares (90%);
  • sunflower-9.8 million tonnes from the area of 5.1 million hectares (80%), with a yield of 1.92 t / ha;
  • soy-1.7 million tonnes from the area 852,4 thousand hectares (64%), with a yield of 2.0 t / ha;
  • corn, 8.4 million tons from an area of 1.8 million hectares (33%), with a yield of 4.67 t / ha;
  • Sugar beet accumulated 1.5 million tons on the area of 35.4 thousand ha (16%), with a yield to 42.4 t / ha.

By the autumn sowing campaign, as of 13 October, Ukrainian farmers have carried out sowing of main winter crops on the area of 5.06 million hectares (62% of the forecast).

In terms of crops sown,

  • wheat-3.8 million ha (63% of the forecast);
  • barley-361,5 thousand hectares (38% of the forecast);
  • rye-94 thousand hectares (71% of the forecast);
  • rape-768,7 thousand hectares (76% of the forecast).

According to operational data of the agricultural administrative bodies of constituent entities of the Russian Federation as of 13 October 2020 grains and legumes threshed from the area of 44.8 million hectares, or 93.3% of the cultivated area, yielding 128.8 million tons of grain at yield of 2.88 t/ha.

Of the wheat threshed from the area of 28.7 million hectares, or 97.6 percent to the cultivated area, harvested 87,1 million tons of grain with a yield of 3.03 t/ha.

Barley throughout the areas of 8.2 mln ha or 95,7% of the sown area, harvested 22 million tons with a yield of 2.69 t/ha.

Corn for grain throughout the areas of 1.4 mln ha or 47.8% of the sown area, harvested 6.8 million tons with an average yield of 4.99 t/ha. Rice threshed from the area of 143,9 thousand hectares or 73,4% of the sown area, harvested 914,5 thousand tons with a yield of 6.35 t/ha.

the Sugar beet is dug out from the area 603,1 thousand ha or 65% of the cultivated area, collected 21.7 million tons with an average yield for 36.05 t/ha.

Sunflower throughout the areas of 6.4 million hectares or 75.6% of the cultivated area, and produced 10.4 million tons with an average yield of 1.62 t/ha.

Rapeseed throughout the areas of 1.4 mln ha or 90.8% of the sown area, harvested 2.6 million tons with an average yield of 1.92 t/ha.

Soybeans throughout the areas of 1.6 mln ha or 57,8 % of the sown area, harvested 3 million tons with an average yield of 1.85 t/ha.

The Sowing of winter crops conducted in the area of 16 million hectares or 83,6% of the forecast area.
