In the EUDR regulation, Ukraine should be on the list of countries with zero risks

The European Commission, when determining the classification of countries by risk level within the framework of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), should include Ukraine in the list of countries with zero risks. And the Ukrainian side should address this request to the European Commission.
This opinion was expressed by Coceral Secretary General Iliana Axiotiades during an online broadcast at the Agro Ukraine Summit conference.
“With this system, the EU will not comply with the required volumes of soybean imports. We decided on Wednesday (June 4) that we will ask for a balance, for the return of the three-year-old rules — without the separation of ports and other requirements. We will ask for the postponement of the implementation of the new legislation,” the expert noted.
Recall that Ukraine has been granted low-risk status under the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which means simplified requirements for exporting agricultural products such as cocoa, coffee, soybeans, palm oil, and beef to the EU.
