Grain traders expecting barley yield indicators to set prices
Export quotations for feed barley in the Black Sea region remained largely unchanged over the past week, Refinitiv Agriculture reports.
Market operators are now focused on the harvesting progress and quality of new crop grain.
"Barley harvesting campaign has started both in Russia and Ukraine. Traders report that they have already started buying small consignments of new crop export. Many are waiting for indicators of yield and quality of grain to understand the situation with the future harvest, export opportunities and price trends," note the analysts.
The procurement prices of new crop barley on the basis of CPT port in the southern regions of Ukraine and Russia are stable.
Export quotations for Black Sea barley based on FOB deep-sea ports did not change over the past week. Saudi Arabia's tender results slightly disappointed exporters and only confirmed the established price levels.
"Sellers are waiting for higher prices," a Kyiv-based trader informs.
