Grain & Oilseed Quality 2025: From Weather Risk to Margin

As of September 11, sunseed harvesting in Ukraine is lagging significantly behind last year’s pace (-62% year-on-year), with weaker yields (-22%). However, as harvesting progresses north and west, yields are improving.
In August, Romania’s sunflower yield estimate was reduced to 1.49 mt/ha – 20% below the five-year average. Romanian agrometeorological institute (ANM) reported about sufficient soil moisture mainly in the North and Northeast. In contrast, harvesting is already underway only in the South and West, where yields are weaker and local crushers are competing more actively for oilseeds.
Key insights on how weather risks are shaping grain and oilseed quality in the Black Sea & Danube region, and how these factors impact margins across the supply chain, will be shared Victoria Golubyatnikova, Global Sales Manager, SGS Agri Commodities at the upcoming BLACK SEA OIL TRADE conference.
