Global Coconut Oil Prices Rise to Record Highs

Coconut oil prices in the world increased to $2,483 per ton last month.
This is 5.4% more than in March, when the exact prices for the product were $2,356. In February, coconut oil cost $1,990. Thus, compared to the last winter month, the price in April increased by $493.
Earlier, the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) in its forecast specified that coconut oil prices in the world markets will continue to rise due to supply problems and increased demand.
“The unusual increase in coconut oil prices in early 2025 is due to reduced global supply and increased demand,” the PCA said. The rise in prices is due to the fact that supplier countries prioritize domestic needs and limit exports.
Coconut oil is widely used not only in the food industry, but also in other household areas. In particular, in the food industry it is used to make confectionery products, such as chocolate, cakes, cookies, ice cream or fast food such as chips, popcorn or others. In non-food areas, the product is used in pharmaceuticals for the production of dietary supplements and in cosmetics in skin and hair products.
There are no official forecasts for the cost of coconut oil in the world for the current year and for the subsequent period.
