Germany’s 2020 wheat crop will fall 1.2%
Germany's 2020 wheat crop will fall 1.2% on the year to 22.79 million tonnes, the country's association of farm cooperatives said in its first harvest estimate.
The main reason was a reduction in wheat planted area of 6.1% on the year to 2.9 million hectares, it said.
The association forecast Germany's 2020 winter rapeseed crop will rise 21.9% from last summer’s especially poor crop to 3.44 million tonnes.
German crops are generally developing well after a warm winter but repeated rain in recent weeks is delaying sowing of spring grains, the association said.
