Federal emergency regime due to frosts may be introduced in Russia by the end of the week

The federal emergency regime due to frosts may be introduced in Russia by the end of the week.
“We expect to introduce a state of emergency by the end of the week. We have already submitted an appeal to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Accordingly, we are waiting for the commission. We very much hope that by the end of the week this issue will be resolved,” Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut told Interfax.
“And further we will work with insurance companies to ensure that all our agricultural producers receive payments. We will pay special attention to this,” she emphasized.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture reported that this year’s abnormal May frosts killed crops on more than 1 million hectares, damaged 600 thousand hectares. There are cases of death and fruit plantations.
Earlier it was reported that due to frosts Russia will harvest 18 million fewer grains.
