By 2030, Lviv railway station should be connected to the Eurorail. At the next stage, the narrow-gauge railway through Lviv should connect the Baltic and the Black Sea. Also, the planned launch of the Eurorail to Lviv will make it possible to implement the city electric train project. This was announced by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi during the 2025 report.

“By 2027, the Eurorail should enter the Sknyliv station. Then it should go to the main station by 2030. Plus, by 2030 there should be two branches: to Warsaw – passenger and freight, and by 2030 there should be a separate one from Vienna to Sknyliv. Of course, Sknyliv should be connected to the airport, and all this should go to the station. In fact, everything should be built by 2030. And then, of course, it should continue to Kyiv,” the mayor noted.

At the next stage, according to him, the Eurotrack through Lviv should connect the Baltic and the Romanian Black Sea port of Constanta.

“If once it looked like a myth, today it is a reality that is being implemented in life,” the mayor of Lviv added.

He also reported that the implementation of the Eurotrack project will make it possible to launch a city train in Lviv.

“The width of the Eurotrack is the same as the width of the train. We tried to launch a train in Lviv, but it did not work out because there was no economy. And if the Eurotrack is built as it should be, then we will have a high-quality train connection to Ryasne, then to Sykhiv — all the way to Davydov, then there should be Trakt Hlynyansky, to Dublyany and Sknyliv. “That is, in fact, Lviv will have another alternative connection by city train,” Andriy Sadovyi emphasized.

According to him, the launch of the city train will give Lviv a significant boost for economic development.
