European elections this year could intensify protests against grain from Ukraine
The European Union grain market is somewhat closed to Ukraine.
This was stated on the radio by the Director General of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation Pavlo Koval, the press service of the association reports.
He explained that Ukraine exports grain to Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, but even after the signing of the new version of the ATC on October 29, 2025, we still have to deal with quotas and licensing of grain supplies.
Pavlo Koval noted that European partners have repeatedly hinted at the quality of Ukrainian grain. But, in his opinion, the quality of agricultural products suits Europeans, the problem is that there is an internal discussion on this issue in the EU.
“For example, Polish, Danish, German livestock farmers are happy to rake up all Ukrainian fodder and soybean meal. “Therefore, all the claims about Ukrainian grain, etc. are political manipulations, especially when it comes to electoral cycles. By the way, this year there will be 12 electoral processes in Europe, so we expect another surge in protests against Ukrainian agricultural products,” the expert summed up.
For almost 30 years of expertise in the agri markets, UkrAgroConsult has accumulated an extensive database, which became the basis of the platform AgriSupp.
