EU grain exports lag by 34% this season

In the first seven weeks of the current season, which began on July 1, 2025, EU countries exported 3,730.0 thousand tons of grain and processed products, which is 34% less than in the same period in the 2024/2025 season. This was reported by the Zerno On-Line agency with reference to the European Commission.

The main export destinations for soft wheat of European origin in the current season were Saudi Arabia (254.5 thousand tons), Nigeria (128.8 thousand tons) and Jordan (117.2 thousand tons).
The largest buyers of barley were Saudi Arabia (293.9 thousand tons) and Jordan (293.2 thousand tons).
