EU began increasing corn purchases from Russia in October
Russia exported 219 KMT of corn since the season’s beginning (-55% y-o-y). 131 KMT of corn was exported in October (+50% from September, -61% from October 2019/20).
The EU purchased 23 KMT in October (four times as much as the month before), thereby becoming the second biggest importer of Russian corn, UkrAgroConsult reports.
The following importers slashed purchases vs the same time last year: Iran (-55%), Turkey (down 19 times).
The following countries stepped up imports – China (up ninefold y-o-y), Georgia (+48%), Lebanon (+8%).
