Egypt to import 700,000 tons of sunflower oil in MY 2024/25 – forecast
Egypt will import about 700 thousand tons of sunflower oil at the end of the season-2024/25, forecast experts of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. They note that such volume will be achieved against the background of competitive prices for the product and increasing its share in blending with soybean oil.
According to experts, in 2023/24 MY (October-March) the country has already imported more than 483.8 thousand tons of sunflower oil against 217.4 thousand tons in the same period of the last agricultural year.
“rf and Ukraine have significantly increased their exports to the Egyptian market, they were able to offer sunflower oil cheaper than soybean oil and with a small premium to palm oil,” the report said.
