Egypt diversifies wheat sources due to geopolitical risks

Egypt’s state grain agency Mostakbal Misr told Reuters it has signed wheat supply contracts with strategic partners in France and Romania, and has strong positions in South America and Australia thanks to timely purchases.
The moves are aimed at diversifying sources of wheat and vegetable oils to reduce dependence on Russia and Ukraine amid geopolitical risks.
The agency has also begun using deferred purchasing tactics to stabilize supplies and improve product quality.
