Czech grain production rises across all major crops in 2025
According to updated data from the Czech Statistical Office, the country’s total grain harvest in 2025 reached 7.66 million tons, up 9.8% from 6.8 million tons last year. The growth was driven by favorable weather conditions and improved yields across most agricultural regions.
Wheat production increased to 5.19 million tons from 4.63 million tons in 2024, while barley output rose to 1.85 million tons from 1.67 million tons. Rye production reached 115,000 tons (up from 106,000 tons), and oats climbed to 282,000 tons (from 201,000 tons), reflecting overall gains across all key cereal crops.
Additionally, the Czech Republic recorded a higher rapeseed harvest of 1.026 million tons, compared to 947,000 tons a year earlier. Experts note that the steady expansion in grain and oilseed output will help reduce the country’s reliance on imports and strengthen its position in the European agricultural market.
