Croatia’s wheat output down 14.2% in 2023

The production of soft and hard wheat (winter, spring and seed) in Croatia fell by an estimated 14.2% on the year in 2023, to 813,000 tonnes, the national statistical office said on Wednesday.
Winter barley and spring barley production dropped 10.1% to 286,000 tonnes last year, while sunflower production was flat at 153,000 tonnes, the statistical office said in a statement, citing provisional data.
Production of maize rose by an estimated 20.2% to 1.974 million tonnes, sugar beet production dropped by 12.6% to 500,000 tonnes and rapeseed production dropped by 25.9% to 43,000 tonnes in 2023 compared to the previous year.
