Corn Up Slightly. Thursday, April 24, 2025
A little past 8:30 a.m. CT, July corn was up less than a penny at $4.80 per bushel.
July soybeans were up 3¢ at $10.53¼ per bushel.
July wheat contracts were lower. CBOT wheat was down 1¼¢ at $5.42¼ per bushel. KC wheat was down 6¾¢ at $5.43½. Minneapolis wheat was down 4½¢ at $6.02½.
“The recent selling pressure in the corn market is likely tied to the quick planting pace across the Midwest, combined with solid rainfall totals for April,” said Bob Linneman, commodities broker with Kluis Commodity Advisors. “The wet forecast was expected for April, but May and June are forecast to be below average for precipitation.”
This morning, USDA released the weekly U.S. Export Sales report. The Brock Report said sales were “solid for corn but lackluster overall.”
June live cattle were up 20¢ at $208.30 per hundredweight (cwt) a little past 8:30 a.m. CT. August feeder cattle were up 20¢ at $292.38 per cwt. June lean hogs were down 80¢ at $99.35 per cwt.
June crude oil was up 56¢ at $62.83 per barrel.
The U.S. Dollar Index June contract was down to 99.18.
June S&P 500 futures were up 4 points. June Dow futures were down 203 points.
