Shortly after 8:30 a.m. CT, July corn was up 4¢ at $4.59½ per bushel.
July soybeans were up 7¾¢ at $10.49 per bushel.
July wheat contracts were mixed. CBOT wheat was up less than a penny at $5.36¼ per bushel. KC wheat was down 4½¢ at $5.33½. Minneapolis wheat was down 2½¢ at $6.08.
“Corn and soybean futures rose in early trade amid hopes for an easing in the U.S.-China trade war following a Tuesday evening announcement that top U.S. and Chinese officials will meet Saturday in Geneva for initial trade talks,” said The Brock Report this morning, speaking of the overnight session. “U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer will meet with China’s economic tsar He Lifeng. Fresh export demand was also supportive for corn futures.”
June live cattle were down 35¢ at $213.33 per hundredweight (cwt) a little after 8:30 a.m. CT. August feeder cattle were down 20¢ at $299 per cwt. June lean hogs were up 8¢ at $97.65 per cwt.
June crude oil was down 35¢ at $58.74 per barrel.
The U.S. Dollar Index June contract was up to 99.26.
June S&P 500 futures were up 8 points. June Dow futures were up 167 points.
