Corn areas in Ukraine added 16.5% in 2020

In the 2020 season, corn areas in Ukraine are forecast at 5.39 mln ha, 764.15 thou. ha or 16.54% more from 2019 (4.62 mln ha).
Under the data of the Sowing Online 2019/20 Project, corn planting as of May 28 was 99% completed (5.33 mln ha).
Areas under the crop have increased in the following regions:
- Chernihiv: by 142.56 thou. ha to 549.56 thou. ha
- Poltava: by 92.3 thou. ha to 704.4 thou. ha
- Vinnytsya: by 80 thou. ha to 472.4 thou. ha
- Khmelnytsky: by 78 thou. ha to 267.1 thou. ha
- Sumy: by 74.3 thou. ha to 439.9 thou. ha
- Cherkasy: by 65.4 thou. ha to 437.8 thou. ha
- Kyiv: by 58.1 thou. ha to 359.4 thou. ha
- Kirovohrad: by 57.6 thou. ha to 411.6 thou. ha
- Zhytomyr: by 39.9 thou. ha to 212.4 thou. ha
- Dnipropetrovsk: by 26.6 thou. ha to 336.1 thou. ha
