Corn and soybean harvests are coming to an end in the US
According to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), 91% of corn and 95% of soybean acreage had been harvested by November 16.
By the same date, the corn harvest had been harvested from 94% of the country’s acreage, while the soybean harvest had been harvested from 96% of the acreage over the past five years.
According to USDA forecasts, this year’s corn harvest will reach a record 425.5 million tons. Soybean production will be below the five-year average of 115.8 million tons. Last year, the United States harvested 378.3 million tons of corn and 119.0 million tons of soybeans.
Winter wheat planting is also nearing completion. By November 16, 92% of the planned volume had been planted, which is lower than the same date last year (94%) and below the five-year average (95%).
