CBH Group, the largest grain cooperative in Western Australia, has registered a record 23.5 million tonnes of grain receivals so far this season. The new milestone comes amid another bumper year, as the 2025/26 harvest approaches its final stages.

The record was officially set when receivals surpassed 22.9 million tonnes, with 1.36 million tonnes delivered during the final week of December alone. CBH Chief of Operations Mick Daw described the achievement as a major milestone for Western Australia’s grains industry.

Despite the new record, significant volumes are still expected to be delivered, and CBH says it is fully prepared to receive and store the remaining crop. At the same time, the cooperative is running a busy shipping program across all four export ports, ensuring steady movement of grain through the system to customers.

According to CBH’s January 5 Harvest Report, an additional 630,000 tonnes were received in the week following the record, with wheat accounting for the bulk of deliveries as the 2025/26 harvest nears completion. CBH’s storage and handling network, which includes more than 100 receival sites and four export terminals, handles around 90% of Western Australia’s total grain harvest.

Looking ahead, CBH is preparing for an average crop of around 22 million tonnes, with peak years of up to 28 million tonnes by 2033 under its Path to 2033 Strategy. In the 2025 financial year alone, CBH invested A$590 million in its supply chain. Meanwhile, ABARES forecasts that Western Australia’s total winter crop production in 2025/26 will rise 14% year on year to 26.2 million tonnes, underscoring Australia’s growing role in global grain markets.
