Canada to harvest less wheat this year

Gross wheat harvest in Canada this year will decrease to 35.547 million tons, by 1% compared to last year, the Zerno On-Line agency reports with reference to Statistics Canada. The decrease in production will occur due to a reduction in planting area and yield.
Durum wheat production will decrease to 6.078 million tons (6.380 million tons last year).
Gross canola harvest will increase to 19.937 (19.239) million tons, which is higher than the five-year average. Canola yield will be higher than last year.
