Bunge expands grain elevator network in Canada
Bunge has signed an agreement to acquire the grain elevator assets of North West Terminal Ltd near Unity, Saskatchewan, Canada. The deal includes the grain elevator and associated storage facilities. Bunge’s press service reported this.
The fermentation and distillation complex will continue to operate under the management of NWT.
The NWT grain complex has a total storage capacity of 63,000 tonnes, making it one of the largest grain processing facilities in Western Canada. It is equipped with a full range of grain cleaning and drying equipment and is serviced by both of Canada’s major railways, CPKC and CN.
“We look forward to integrating this efficient, high-throughput facility into our leading network of grain assets. We are confident that our operational and logistical skills, focus on high-quality service and targeted investments in the future will allow us to maximize the potential of this facility for the benefit of our customers. “We also aim to be an active member of the local community as a leading employer and community investment initiative,” said Kyle Jevorsky, Bunge’s Canada CEO.
The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions. If all conditions are successfully satisfied, the transaction is expected to close in October.
