Bulgaria set to increase its rapeseed crop next season

Based on real-time harvest data, the rapeseed crop in Bulgaria is estimated at 350-380 KMT (+30-35% from MY 2020/21).
Export potential of the rapeseed market was increased by 10%. The Bulgarian market is traditionally focused on EU countries, but the situation is adjusted by scarce global supply – foreign demand is high and real-time data indicate rapeseed shipments outside the EU.
Rapeseed crush will rise by 10-12%, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Due to international markets, MY 2021/22 is becoming a season of record rapeseed prices. This will heighten farmers’ interest in growing this crop and result in a larger planted area next season.
The rapeseed area for 2022 is expected to expand by 10-15%. Provided the weather is favorable, this will restore production of the commodity.
