Brazil’s soybean meal exports increased by more than 60% in early May

According to data released by Brazil’s Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX), Brazilian soybean meal exports have increased by 60.2% since May compared to the same period last year, while prices remain lower than in the same period last year. From May to date, the average volume of soybean meal exports has been 164.9 thousand tons.
The volume of soybean meal exports from May 1 to 9 was 990 thousand tons, compared to 2.16 million tons for the whole of May 2024.
Earlier, the National Supply Company Conab increased its forecast for soybean exports from Brazil this season to 106 million tons. The soybean harvest is estimated at 168.3 million tons, the highest figure ever recorded in the country’s history. Brazil accounts for 70% of bean imports from China.
