Brazil pork shipments accelerate in February – Cepea
Brazil’s pork exports have been moving at a strong pace in February, following a decline from December 2024 to January 2025, according to a recent market report from Cepea.
The reduction in export volumes has tightened domestic supply, driving up pork prices across all regions monitored by Cepea. Strong demand has further reinforced this upward trend.
According to Secex data, Brazil exported 104.6 thousand tons of pork in January, a 3% decrease from December 2024. Despite this decline, it remains the highest export volume ever recorded for January in Secex’s historical series (dating back to 1997).
Revenue from pork exports totalled $236.1 million in January, down 7.8% from December, but still the highest figure for January on record.
In early February, the daily average of pork shipments reached a record 6.3 thousand tons—an increase of 57.8% compared to January and 42% higher than in February 2024.
