Soyabean production in Brazil in 2025/26 is projected at a record 177.1M tonnes, up 3.3% from the previous year, according to National Supply Company (Conab) data reported by World Grain.

Total 2025/26 grains production in the country was estimated at 354.4M tonnes, up 2.2M tonnes from the previous year, Conab said in its third ‘Crop Progress report published on 11 December.

A projected decline in productivity from 4,310kg/ha to 4,210 kg/ha would be offset by an expansion in planted area from 81.7M to 84.2M ha, the report said.

If realised, the soyabean harvest would be a new record on an estimated planted area of 48.9M ha, World Grain wrote on 11 December.

Adequate rainfall in the main growing regions had allowed farmers to make significant planting progress, the report said.

Overseas demand for Brazilian soyabeans continued to grow, with soyabean exports from January-November 2025 reaching a record 104.79M tonnes of soyabeans valued at US$42bn, exceeding the 101.87M tonnes exported for all of 2021, Conab said, citing data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC).

Total corn production from all three harvests during the year was estimated at 138.9M tonnes, a 1.5% decline from last year.

With 98% of the wheat crop harvested at the time of the report, production was estimated at 8M tonnes, an increase of almost 1%, mainly due to favourable weather conditions throughout the season, the report said.
