Belgium imported over 20 thousand tons of linseed from Kazakhstan

Belgium purchased in Kazakhstan about 20.4 thousand tons of oilseed linseed in the first six months of the season-2023/24, according to official statistics. The European region is among the leading buyers of the crop from Kazakhstan in the current agricultural year. Only China imports more flax.
In addition, small amounts of safflower are also sold to Belgium .
As for grain, for the last 3 seasons Kazakhstan exported to Belgium a total of just over 10 thousand tons of grain and processed products.
However, the level of bilateral trade between the countries does not correspond to the available potential, said at a meeting between Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev and the director and head of the department “State Visits and Belgian economic missions” of the Belgian Agency for Foreign Trade Rose Donk.
“The last Belgian economic mission to Kazakhstan took place in 2010. At the same time, the Agency is considering the organization of an economic mission to Kazakhstan in the near future,” Donk’s words are quoted in the message.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to jointly prepare a business forum with the participation of 200 enterprises of the two countries this year in Belgium.
