Belarus. Meal exchange trade up 22%
Meal sales through exchange trades in Belarus have increased by 22% since the beginning of the season.
672 deals for the purchase of oilseed meals to an amount of BYN 134 Ml have already been struck on the Belarussian Universal Commodity Exchange in 2020 (+22% year-on-year). In natural units, these deals totaled 174 KMT (+8%).
The upturn results from high concentration of producers and suppliers of meal in exchange trades. Their competition allows making oilseed purchases on more profitable terms than in the non-exchange market.
Belarussian farmers purchase more than 1 MMT of meal a year, including 45% through the exchange, UkrAgroConsult reports.
