Barley prices in Romania rose to a two-year high
Unlike the tendencies in the wheat segment, average price of Romanian barley gained about USD 5/mt over the week. The price is near USD 245-248/mt FOB Constanta and up USD 25/mt y/y.
Current price reached a seasonal maximum, not seen since the spring of MY 2022/23, while the spread with the milling wheat is widening. Active domestic and export demand supports the price, particularly due to lower offers from Ukraine and lower volumes remained for sale in Romania.
