Azerbaijan imported over 1.1 million tons of wheat in 11 months

In January-November 2024, 1 million 117 thousand 277 tons of wheat worth USD 241 million 94 thousand were imported to Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports citing State Customs Committee.
According to the report, this indicator is 2% or 22.3 thousand tons more in volume compared to the corresponding period of 2023, and 15% or 42.3 million USD less in value.
During the reporting period, wheat imports accounted for 1.28% of Azerbaijan’s total imports.
It should be noted that the average price of 1 ton of wheat imported into the country in the first 11 months of 2024 decreased by 16.6% compared to the corresponding period of last year and amounted to AZN 366.8.
It should be noted that during the reporting period, wheat was imported to Azerbaijan mainly from Russia.
