Azerbaijan almost halved wheat imports

Azerbaijan imported 266,609.01 tons of wheat in January-April 2024, which is 1.5 times less than the indicator of the same period last year.
Caliber.Az reports that this was reported by the State Customs Committee.
At the same time, in value terms, the volume of imports decreased 2.1 times, amounting to 59 million 697.63 thousand US dollars.
The share of wheat import for the reporting period amounted to 1.09% of total import costs of Azerbaijan.
According to the results of 2023, the total volume of imported wheat amounted to 1 million 175 thousand 341.03 tons (a decline of 9.1% from the figure of 2022).
