Austria allocates additional EUR 2 million for Grain from Ukraine initiative

The Austrian government will increase funding for the Grain from Ukraine initiative. This was stated by Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg.
“We are ready to support the Grain from Ukraine initiative with another EUR 2 million through the Austrian Development Agency to reduce the impact of Putin’s war on global food security,” the minister said.
He emphasized that Ukraine is a key player in ensuring food security.
“Putin not only attacks the Ukrainian people, but also cynically ignores the needs of millions of people who depend on Ukrainian grain,” said Schallenberg.
The head of Austrian diplomacy reminded that Austria has already provided EUR 264 million in bilateral aid to Ukraine, focusing on humanitarian and financial support.
Grain from Ukraine is a Ukrainian humanitarian initiative launched by the President of Ukraine on November 26, 2022. It has brought together dozens of countries and international organizations to help countries suffering from food shortages. Developed countries buy Ukrainian grain and transport it to countries facing famine.
Further development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be discussed at the 23 International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV on April 24 in Kyiv.
