Australia increased wheat exports by 20% in October
In particular, 148.73 thousand tons were exported in containers.
According to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 1.16 million tons were shipped out of the country in October, which is 20% higher than in September (961.72 thousand tons), but 18% less compared to the volume shipped in October 2023 (1.41 million tons), according to grain central.
Specifically, 148.73 thousand tons were exported in containers, with Thailand (28.75 thousand tons), Vietnam (28.09 thousand tons) and Taiwan (21.89 thousand tons) being the main markets.
In parallel, 1.01 million tons of wheat were shipped in bulk, of which the largest volumes were supplied to Indonesia (252.54 thousand tons), the Philippines (218.31 thousand tons) and South Korea (143 thousand tons).
Lachstock Consulting experts report that competition in the world wheat market is slowing down as the pace of Russian exports begins to slow down, which stimulates shipments from other countries, particularly Australia. Shipments of Australian new crop wheat are expected to increase sharply in November.
