Australia exports 181,948t of canola in October

Australia exported 181,948 tonnes of canola in October, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The figure is down 53 percent from the 383,314t shipped in September, and represents the annual rundown in volume seen ahead of new crop, which is expected to appear in November data.
October 2024 shipments are down 52pc from 381,328t shipped in October 2023.
France on 65,134t was the biggest market for Australian canola shipped in October 2024, followed by Belgium on 62,612t, and Pakistan on 33,425t.
After a disappointing season for European rapeseed production, its demand is expected to come early for Australian new-crop canola.
Lachstock Consulting’s summary of shipping stems indicates a number of cargoes heading to Europe this and last month, with destinations including Belgium, France, and The Netherlands, as well as Pakistan.
