ANEC raises Brazil’s May soybean export estimate by 1.75%

According to ANEC, Brazil’s soybean exports in May 2025 will reach 14.52 million tons, up 1.75% from last week’s forecast of 14.268 million tons. If realized, it would exceed the 13.476 million tons shipped in April and 13.472 million tons in May last year.
May is typically one of the busiest months for Brazilian soybean exports, as farmers complete their harvest and build up large stockpiles.
In the first four months of this year, Brazil’s soybean exports totaled 40.42 million tons, nearly half of last year’s total of 97.3 million tons.
Earlier, Brazil’s soybean meal exports in the first quarter of 2025 were a record 5.4 million tons. Analysts expect volumes to continue to grow. According to the National Supply Company (Conab) of Brazil, the soybean harvest in the 2024/25 season will reach a record volume of 167.9 million tons, which is 20.1 million tons more than the previous year.
