An olive garden will appear in Ukraine
An olive tree plantation will be planted in the Kherson region as part of cooperation with Greece. This was reported by the head of the Kherson OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin, in Telegram.
He noted that the relevant agreement was signed with the founder and CEO of the strategic partner MetaCluster TIASI, Sotiris A. Buzeas.
“We focused on the details of the business project for next year, which can be beneficial for small farming and, accordingly, for the economy of the region. It was about creating an olive tree plantation in the Kherson region,” Prokudin said.
The CEO of MetaCluster TIASI brought the first olive tree seedlings. They will be planted in specially designated greenhouses, where specialists will test during the winter to see how well the climate of the Kherson region meets the requirements for growing olives. After all, a successful harvest requires a special temperature regime, as well as an established fertilizer and irrigation system.
If the testing is successful, the seedlings will be transplanted into open ground in the spring. We will be able to evaluate the initial results and adaptation already next winter.
In addition, the partners discussed the possibility of long-term lease of land plots in safe communities of the region. In the future, this will allow attracting international investment partners and obtaining state support for projects in the Kherson region.
