Algeria purchased more than half a million tons of wheat
On January 16, the Algerian state-owned company OAIC purchased 500-650 thousand tons of soft wheat at the tender. This is reported by Reuters.
According to traders, the purchase price was about $265.5 per ton on a c&f basis.
Traders said they did not believe that a large volume of Russian wheat had been purchased and that the main suppliers could be France and EU Black Sea region countries such as Romania and Bulgaria.
Under the terms of the tender, shipments will occur on April 1-15 and April 16-30, 2024, or one month earlier than those periods if sourced from South America or Australia.
