Algeria purchased a large batch of wheat
On December 3, the Algerian state-owned company OAIC held a tender to purchase at least 50,000 tonnes of milling wheat of any origin, Reuters reported.
Up to 900,000 tonnes of wheat were purchased at a price of $256 (according to some estimates, $255) C&F from five companies. Traders believe some of the purchased wheat is of Russian and Argentine origin.
Under the tender terms, the wheat will be shipped from February 1-15 and February 16-28 if it is of European or Black Sea origin. For wheat from South America or Australia, the shipment dates will be pushed back by a month.
