ADM (Archer-Daniels-Midland’s) and Planters Cotton Oil Mill have agreed to form a cottonseed processing joint venture. The new business aims to enhance supply chain efficiency and better serve both suppliers and end users.

As part of the agreement, Planters will transfer its processing plant in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, as well as additional storage and procurement facilities in the region, to the joint venture.

ADM, for its part, will contribute its cottonseed processing facility in Memphis, Tennessee. It is expected that the oil processing unit will continue to operate at this site, while the seed crushing operations will be discontinued.

The joint venture will operate as a separate business and will have a board of directors with equal representation from both parties. The controlling stake — 60% — will belong to ADM.

ADM notes that the new enterprise is part of the asset optimization strategy and should ensure the stability and efficiency of the cottonseed supply chain.

Planters Cotton Oil Mill emphasizes that the partnership with ADM will allow combining expertise and production facilities, improving product quality and creating added value for members of the cooperative and the agricultural community as a whole.

The parties plan to complete the deal and officially launch the joint venture in the first quarter of 2026.
