Additional anchorage for Ukrainian grain will appear in the port of Constanza

The Romanian port of Constanta will have an additional anchorage for transshipment of Ukrainian agricultural products. This was reported by PJSC Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company.
Thus, on May 17, it became known that the tender for the organization of anchorage in the port of Constanta for the transshipment of Ukrainian agricultural products was completed.
“Last year, UDP was one of the initiators of the project. The capacity of Constanta’s terminals was not enough to handle the grain flow from Ukraine. There were up to 600 barges with grain in the port, waiting for 30-40 days to be unloaded,” the post says.
Despite the fact that most of Ukraine’s agricultural exports have now returned to the ports of Greater Odesa, the UDP intends to replace Ukrainian grain with agricultural products from the Middle Danube. The company plans to deliver up to 200-250 thousand tons to Constanta every month.
“We offer a comprehensive service – river freight plus transshipment on board in Constanta. If the main export flow from Ukraine returns to the Danube, the anchorage will become a lifeline that will significantly increase the capacity of our logistics model,” the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company emphasized.
