2024/25 Argentina Soybean Estimate Unchanged at 48.0 Million Tons

Аргентина

Rainfall in Argentina last week favored the central production area leading to improved soil moisture in those areas. The forecast for this week is calling for more chances of rain in central and southern areas. If the rains verify, dryness and moisture stress on corn and soybeans will be reduced significantly.

The crop ratings improved for the second week in a row and the crop situation is now more stabilized with improved weather in the forecast. Therefore, the soybean estimate was left unchanged this week at 48.0 million tons.

Early planted soybeans in the core production areas are entering pod filling under optimum soil moisture. In the northern production areas, the early planted soybeans are entering pod filling under moisture stress. The double crop soybeans had less than ideal emergence and plant populations at the beginning of the season due to hot and dry conditions, but recent rains have been beneficial.

Soybeans in Argentina were rated 33 poor/very poor, 43% fair, and 24% good/excellent as of late last week. The good/excellent percentage is up 7% compared to the prior week. Soil moisture for corn is rated 31% short/very short and 69% favorable/optimum. The favorable/optimum percentage is up 2% compared to the prior week. Below is the soybean rating in Argentina for February 26, 2025 from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange.
