2024/25 Argentina Corn 38% Planted, Up 1.3% for the Week
Rainfall last week was light and scattered across Argentina with some rain over the weekend across central and southern Buenos Aires and northern Entre Rios. The rains improved moisture where they fell, but the major growing areas are still dryer than normal. The rains this week will be confined to far northeastern Argentina which will allow dryness to expand. However, the 6-10 day forecast is calling for improved chances of rain across central Argentina.
Corn in Argentina was 38.5% planted as of late last week which represented an advancement of 1.3% for the week. In the core production areas, the corn is 75-80% planted with 30-40% planted in southern Argentina and 0% planted in far northern Argentina.
Corn planting should advance 1-2% per week for the next two weeks before picking up during the first week of December. The late corn planting should be completed sometime in early January.
