2021/22 Brazil’s First Corn Crop 75% Planted vs. 68% Last Year

Brazil’s first corn crop is approximately 75% planted compared to 68% planted last year according to AgRural. Some of the earliest planted corn in southern Brazil is pollinating and starting to fill grain.

Parana – The first corn crop in Parana is 98% planted and some of the earliest planted corn is pollinating. In the municipality of Maringa, the corn is 31% pollinating, Francisco Beltrao is 8%, Ponta Grossa is 5%, Guarapuava is 2%, and Cascavel is 1%. The corn in Parana is rated 4% average and 96% good.

Rio Grande do Sul – Emater reported that farmers in the state had planted 80% of their intended corn acreage as of late last week and that the corn was 87% germinating/vegetative development, 12% pollinating, and 1% filling grain.
