12 ships with 354.5 thousand tons of agricultural products left Ukrainian ports for countries in Africa, Asia and Europe

The UN and Turkey agreed on the movement of ships through the humanitarian corridor on October 31. Representatives of the UN and Turkey are negotiating with the Russian delegation and continue to seek solutions for the full implementation of the “Grain Initiative”.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

According to the proposal of the Joint Coordination Center (JCC), representatives of the UN and Turkey envisage the work of 10 inspection groups to check 40 ships. Such a proposal was accepted by the representatives of Ukraine. Representatives of the Russian Federation were informed.

“Today 12 vessels with 354.5 thousand tons of agricultural products left the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdenny for the countries of Africa, Asia, and Europe. Among them, the IKARIA ANGEL bulk carrier with Ukrainian wheat for Ethiopia, which is located on the edge of hunger. This is the seventh ship chartered within the framework of the World Food Program under the auspices of the United Nations. At the same time, passage to Ukrainian ports for loading is allowed for 4 ships that passed the SCC inspection the day before with the participation of all parties, including representatives of Russia,” the message says .

It will be recalled that on October 29, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that Russia would stop participating in the “grain agreement”. At the same time, it became known that the UN was negotiating with the Russian Federation regarding Russia’s withdrawal from the “grain agreement”.

According to the spokesman of the head of state, Serhiy Nikiforov, Ukraine is waiting for a reaction from Turkey and the UN regarding the statement of the Russian Federation about withdrawing from the “grain initiative”. US President Joe Biden also criticized Russia’s withdrawal from the “grain agreement”.

The United States of America reacted to Russia’s withdrawal from the initiative to export grain from Ukrainian ports by calling on the Kremlin to return to the agreement.

On the evening of October 30, the UN announced that it had agreed with Turkey and Ukraine on a plan for the passage of the next 14 cargo ships as part of the agreement on the Black Sea “grain corridor”.
