Romanian barley exports to Saudi Arabia the lowest since 2016/17
According to the official data, in July-June 2019/20 Romania exported 31% more than last season, but 4.4% lower than the 5-year average for the country, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Despite the increase in shipments, share of the top buyer – Saudi Arabia fell to 36% from 70% in 2018/19 due to higher supplies from Germany and tighter competition on the barley market of Saudi Arabia.
Record volume of barley was exported in 2015/16 MY thanks to higher crop and record volume of barley imports from the neighboring countries.
