Ukraine. Opening of navigation on the Dnipro River postponed
The state-owned waterway enterprise “UkrVodShliakh” has decided to postpone the opening of navigation on the Dnipro River. The first to open will be the Kakhovka sluice (March 7) and the last one will be that of Kaniv (June 10), UkrAgroConsult reports.
Cargo shippers remained discontent with this decision. They believe the weather conditions allow opening the navigation season as soon as mid-February. It is noted that the sluices will be opened later due to prolonged repairs. Apart from the above, some sluices lack specialists to carry out the repairs.
